That certainly may have played a role. But when you're all about the crew cab life and your short bed has a big toolbox in it, that's what you do.

In fairness, he may have clipped something in the snow. It’s not hard to do when you can’t see what’s under there. But yeah, that toolbox has got to come out for that big of a sander. There are smaller sanders...

Wouldn’t help. The spreader needs clearance from the tailgate. They’d have to remove the toolbox and tailgate to do it correctly.

You know, right after I posted this, I was asking myself that question and a double cab Chevy with a plow drove by. This guy would have probably been fine without that massive salt shaker on the back.
